WELCOME TO THE ARFC U12s
We have a great squad of around 30 boys, some of who have been playing for a number of years and some who have recently started rugby.
Training is at 10am every Sunday through the season. New players are always welcome – please contact one of the coaches.
Within the coaching team we have 5 RFU qualified Level 1 coaches and 5 having completed the RFU scrum factory along with various other CPD courses. We will continue to develop our coaching team skills to ensure we are delivering the best Rugby training and core values we can.
OUR FOCUS AREAS FOR THIS SEASON
Identifying and using space.
Playing more as a collective team, rather than individuals.
Keeping the ball alive by passing it out of tackles and moving it down the line.
We will fully explain these to kids and parents at the start of the season
We will be concentrating on making the sessions both enjoyable and rewarding for all kids, it is of utmost importance we have good behaviour and we will be involving parents immediately so that poor behaviour is addressed quickly.
Please make sure you have all the required equipment for the session attending, eg gum shields and drinks always.
Snacks, if you feel you must bring them, we actively discourage chocolate, sweets and fizzy drinks, preferring fruit and healthy options.
Get prepared now for muddy and cold and wet conditions later in the season. Thermal underclothes are advisable for the really cold days.
We are hoping to go ‘on-tour’ again in 2017, watch this space!
